Puzzle - 35

This puzzle is bit tricky. Try soloving this puzzle...
You are given with three hour glasses with the measuring of 9, 12 & 14 mins respectively. If you are asked to measure the time of 8 mins to do a certain job with these hourglasses. How will you do it?

Answer:There are few possible way to do this, One is start the 14 min & 9 min hourglass simultaneously. Once the 9 min glass is over start it again. once 14 min glass is over start the 12 min glass. Once the 9 min glass is over, start the job and do it till 12 min glass is over which is 8 mins. For the another one pls check the answer by Lakshmi. There are still some more also. sorry for the unclear posting, I have amended it now. They are mins that can be measured with those hourglasses

Start the 14 and 9 min clocks at the same time. Once the 9 min clock is finished, flip both the 14 min and 9 min clocks.So, you got 5 min to finish the 14 min clock. When the 5 min is over, flip the 9 min clock again.It had run for 5 already, so on flipping you get 4 min now to finish it.By then flip the 12 min clock at the same time. So when the 9 min clock is done, meaning 4 min have passed, you are left with 8 min to finish the 12 min clock. Now flip the 12 min clock and do the job you wanted to measure.
